The Birth of Maven: A Journey of Love, Family, and Rediscovery

For 35 years, I was immersed in the world of high-end fashion, multi-level management and customer service. My career was my identity, shaping my understanding of not just products and services, but of people and their desires. Customer service became more than just a job—it was an art form, a way to connect with individuals and brighten their lives through attentiveness and care.
However, life has a way of taking unexpected turns. I never imagined myself as a stay-at-home mom. It wasn’t a path or title I had desired or even considered. I was a career woman, driven by my professional achievements. But as life often does, it threw me a curveball that would ultimately lead to the birth of Maven.
Transitioning to being a stay-at-home mom to my two amazing boys was both devastating and beautiful. Initially, it felt like a loss of identity. He was an incredible fixture in my life, the ultimate cheerleader who supported me in every endeavor. I can still vividly remember how, every time he walked into my home, he would declare with a beaming smile, “You are such a maven!” At the time, I didn‘t fully grasp the meaning of the word, but I knew it was good. His smile was big, his pride palpable, and his happiness infectious.
It wasn‘t until later that I looked up the actual definition of “maven” and discovered its true significance. A maven is someone who is experienced and knowledgeable in a particular field. This revelation was a moment of profound connection—between my grandfather‘s perception of me, my years of experience in the fashion industry, and the future I envisioned for myself.
